Douglas Crimp on AIDS and Activism
Douglas Crimp, the Fanny Knapp Allen Professor of Art History, speaks about his involvement in AIDS activism during the height of the epidemic in the 1980s and ‘90s. He also recalls his role as the editor of the arts and cultural criticism journal October and the impact of an issue about the AIDS crisis, which was published in 1987. Crimp says it was out of the research he did for that issue which led him to become an activist for the cause.
